Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are really looking forward, finally, to be able to meet face-to-face again at the 8th European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC 2022). This takes place 4-6 May 2022 in Lyon, France. ESOC 2022 will be a hybrid* event to which we are delighted to invite you and hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us.
ESOC is Europe’s leading forum, and indeed a leading forum worldwide, for advances in research and clinical care of patients with cerebrovascular diseases. ESOC 2022 will live up to its expectation, and present to you a packed, high quality scientific programme including major clinical trials, state-of-the-art seminars, educational workshops, scientific communications of the latest research, and debates about current controversies.
The European Stroke Organisation’s mission is to reduce the burden of Stroke and to erase existing inequalities in stroke care in Europe. We firmly believe that together – through science, education and research, as well as networking and harmonizing how stroke is treated – this aim can be reached.
ESO acts as the Voice of Stroke in Europe and combines 43 organisations as well as over 2,000 individual members. Over 5,000 participants attend our conference and benefit from first-hand information about the latest breaking news and the newest ESO guidelines. ESOC also presents the perfect stepping-stone for young (and established) career professionals.

Lyon is the perfect location to resume our live event, a city rich in history with a great medical tradition. It is one of the first in France to have developed the use of thrombolysis for acute ischaemic stroke, with ground-breaking research that started in the late 1980s. We hope you will be able to enjoy this beautiful city during this hybrid meeting for which the Local Organising Committee is planning great things.
