Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 41st Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, scheduled from February 5 to 8, 2026, at the world-class Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong, China. This prestigious summit will be held in conjunction with the 37th Hong Kong Ophthalmological Symposium, promising an enriching platform for professional exchange.

We are privileged to have the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society (HKOS) and the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong (COHK) as our esteemed co-hosts, alongside the dedicated efforts of our Organizing Committee.

Under the theme “Eyes on the Future: Innovating Ophthalmology”, APAO 2026 provides a unique opportunity for ophthalmologists, visual scientists, and healthcare professionals worldwide to share cutting-edge research and explore the latest trends in eye health. Through keynote lectures, symposiums, workshops, wet lab courses and other scientific sessions, you will engage in in-depth dialogues with leading experts, updating your medical knowledge and sharpening your clinical skills. You will also connect with colleagues from all over the globe, building invaluable networks for collaborations.

Beyond the congress, Hong Kong offers an exciting array of new attractions since APAO was last hosted here in 2018. For culture lovers, the West Kowloon Cultural District – boasting the M+ Museum, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Xiqu Centre, and Freespace, has now become a must-see. For outdoor enthusiasts, the greenery and serenity in Robin’s Nest Country Park and Long Valley Nature Park showcase the lesser-known biodiversity of our city. For other fun seekers, the Kai Tak Sports Park stands out as a brand-new landmark where you can enjoy spectator sports, entertainment, shopping and culinary delights.

We look forward to seeing you all in Hong Kong!

With warmest regards,

Jason YAM
President
