The annual scientific meeting of GESA is Australian Gastroenterology Week (AGW) - held during Spring in a capital city of Australia.
AGW is one of the significant scientific meetings in the Asia-Pacific region and features the latest advances in clinical management, cutting-edge translational and basic science, and original research in endoscopy, gastroenterology and hepatology. Since the inaugural meeting, AGW has grown in attendance from 25 to over 2,000 medical practitioners, surgeons, researchers, and allied health professionals from across the Asia Pacific region.The three-day program features several synergistic themes designed to encourage interaction between various interest groups in concurrent scientific and educational sessions includng 'state of the art' lectures, symposia, free papers, 'early-bird' sessions and poster presentations.

On behalf the Scientific Program Committee, we warmly welcome you to join us at AGW 2023 in Brisbane, Australia.
The GESA AGW 2023 theme is “Reaching For The Stars: Constellation of Experts” as we strive to bring together the absolute best in hepatology and gastroenterology research, care, and practice.
The 2023 program highlights GESA AGW’s ongoing focus on the novel and cutting-edge discoveries in GI and liver health, with this year having a particular emphasis on nutrition. In addition to the high calibre of international and national speakers sharing their clinical insights, the program will feature popular sessions such as the Plenary, Bushell Lecture by Marla Dubinsky (Professor of Paediatrics and Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York) as well as State-of-the-Art faculty sessions, unopposed YIA and sessions developed by GESA networks such as GENIUS. General GE and Cancer sessions are new additions to AGW this year.
We invite you to share your research findings and submit your Abstracts for 2023! Sustainability has been added as a new category for this year and we particularly encourage submissions in Nursing and Nutrition which will align with this year’s GESA AGW 2023 program.
Join us for AGW Social events – starting with the President’s Welcome Reception on Saturday 2 September. The entertainment will continue on Monday 4 September with the GESA-GENCA Gala Dinner a formal event with the theme “Movie Stars” featuring a three-course meal with live music.

Registration Terms and Conditions
- Full payment of registration fees must be made at the time of registration, using a credit card.
- All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST of 10%
- Cancellation of your registration within fourteen (14) days of the event, you may request a refund in writing to agw@theconferencecompany.com.
- An administration fee of AUD (Australian Dollar) $100 will apply to refunds. Cancellations made after this time are non-refundable.
- In the case of a full or partial event cancellation, GESA may refund all or part of registration fees based on value delivered to registrants.
