GENERAL ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Randomized Trials Results Category
Abstract submission is invited for the presentation of major multicentre prospective trials results which will impact colorectal surgery on an international level. Please use the category 'Randomized Trials Results' within the abstract system.
If your full results are not yet available, you can still submit an abstract outlining the methodology and re-cruitment numbers at this stage, for consideration. Any trial submitted now must be anticipated to be fully completed, analyzed and ready to be shared publicly in September at the Prague meeting.
Please note that there will also be a short 'late breaking abstracts' submission window between 25 May and 31 May 2026, this is intended only for additional major RCTs found to be ready for presentation at this late stage. Numbers of available slots for presentations will be very limited at this point, and authors should aim to submit their work within the main abstract call, if possible, by 14 April 2026.
For Randomized Trials still waiting for results, there will be a window to edit abstract from 25 May to 31 May 2026.

NEW TRIALS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions relating to trials that are either new or ongoing are invited but require further recruitment on a national or international basis. Studies presented can be in any area of colorectal surgery but must be pro-spective and involve multiple centres. They can be of any format, including randomised trials and large-scale observational projects, and do not need to have started recruitment at the time of presentation in Septem-ber.
Projects should be open to potential new centres to get involved (nationally or internationally) and at a stage where the discussions and feedback can be incorporated into improving the project.
The best trials will be selected on merit for presentation of protocol during the session. Presentations will be reviewed by a panel of experts.
Accepted abstracts will be available in the Colorectal Disease supplement.

RESEARCH IDEAS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
IMPORTANT: Submissions are invited for consideration by the Research Committee, chaired by Pamela Buchwald.
Shape the future of colorectal surgery research! Submit your early-stage surgical study ideas to receive ex-pert feedback from trialists, methodologists, and patient representatives. This is your opportunity to refine study designs and help drive the next wave of collaborative projects.
Submissions can include research ideas at any stage even preliminary concepts or incomplete study designs where input from the Research Committee, methodologists, and trialists would be valuable. Studies may cover any area of colorectal surgery and can take any format, including randomized trials or large-scale ob-servational projects. Submissions should be at a stage where feedback can meaningfully influence study de-sign or implementation.
The most promising research ideas will be selected for presentation and reviewed by a panel of experts.
Accepted abstracts will be available in the Colorectal Disease supplement.
