ASRS 2026 - 44th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists

All ASRS member physicians are invited to submit abstracts for the 44th Annual Meeting, a forum for retina specialists from around the world to share the most recent scientific concepts, techniques, and research. General abstract submissions are open until 11:59 PM Central Time on February 4, 2026.

Abstract submission types will include paper/paper on demand, poster, case, and film. The meeting program will emphasize practical treatment modalities that can be applied to patients immediately. 

For abstracts to be considered for a podium presentation, the following characteristics are preferred:

1. Investigator-led studies on innovative ideas that focus on surgical-oriented techniques, instrumentation, and outcomes.
2. Novel and clinically relevant research not previously presented at a major eye meeting.
3. Well-designed studies. Note that acceptance decisions by the Program Committee will not necessarily be based on study size alone as we look to incorporate a broader spectrum of practical cases, both surgical and medical, that will help the clinician improve patient care.
4. Sound statistical analysis, when indicated.
5. Conclusion accurately reflects results and takes into account study limitations. 

All abstracts are considered equally for selection; the quality of the abstract is the single most important factor in the Program Committee's decision. Please review our Abstract Submission Guide for general and technical instructions.

NOTE: Lead authors must attest to maintain complete control of educational content beginning with abstract submission through upload of the presentation. Presentations that contain industry data must reflect the lead author’s interpretation of the results.

It is never appropriate for ineligible companies (or advertising, marketing, or communication firms whose clients are ineligible companies) to contact ASRS staff directly.

NOTE: abstracts and presentations are never available to the general public. 

 Abstract limits for lead authors are as follows:

• Regular, International, Internationally Trained Ophthalmologists, and Fellow in Training Members: Choose ONE of the following abstract types: Paper/Paper on Demand, First Time Phase 2/Phase 3 Data Presentation, OR poster only. One case: surgical or medical. Two films maximum.
• Ophthalmology Resident Members: One poster abstract. 
• Physician Non-members and Medical Students: One poster abstract. At least one co-author must be an active ASRS member. Non-members should log onto their ASRS profile (first time users click "Create an Account") to submit a poster abstract. At least one ASRS member must be listed as co-author. 
• Co-authors: There is no limit to the number of abstracts on which an ASRS member may be named as co-author.

NOTE: employees and owners of ineligible companies may not submit abstracts, including posters. Companies that are ineligible to be accredited in the ACCME System (ineligible companies) are those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients.

Deadline to become a member to submit an abstract

IMPORTANT: January 5, 2026 is the last day to apply for membership to be eligible to submit an abstract for the Annual Meeting. All required documents and references must be received by this date in order for your application to be considered complete. 

ASRS members must be current on annual dues payment in order to submit an abstract.
