Selamat Datang and a warm welcome to the 30th Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR), to be held from 19 – 22 November 2026 in Penang, Malaysia.

With the theme “Reimagining Respiratory Care,” APSR 2026 invites clinicians, researchers, nurses, allied health professionals, and industry partners to rethink how we prevent, diagnose, and treat respiratory diseases. Our vision is to advance care that is innovative, patient-centred, equitable, and sustainable—reshaping respiratory medicine for the future.

Malaysia has been a pioneer in lung health, from tobacco control to research on air quality, COPD, asthma, and TB. Hosting APSR 2026 offers us the chance to showcase these achievements, while learning from global best practices to strengthen respiratory care across the Asia-Pacific.

The scientific programme will feature state-of-the-art plenaries, symposia, workshops, guideline updates, and oral and poster sessions spanning the full spectrum of respiratory medicine. Special tracks for early-career professionals and multidisciplinary teams, alongside cross-cutting themes such as digital health, climate, and value-based care, will ensure a rich and relevant experience for all.

Set in Penang—home to the George Town UNESCO World Heritage site— the Congress promises not only scientific excellence but also a setting that inspires fresh ideas, collaboration, and lasting connections.
