2024年第34届欧洲临床微生物与传染病学大会(ECCMID2024)将于2024年4月27日至30日在西班牙巴塞罗那举行,会议由欧洲临床微生物学与感染病学会(ESCMID)主办。ECCMID是临床微生物学、感染性疾病和感染控制领域规模最大、内容最全面、最具影响力的国际会议,汇集了来自众多领域的国际专家,向14000多名来自世界各地的同行介绍他们的最新发现、指南和经验;大会将利用最新的技术呈现最科学的教育计划,包括主题演讲、座谈会、海报会议、教育研讨会、专家会面、展览会等多种形式。

Authors

Please ensure that all author names are correct upon submission. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that this is kept up to date in case of changes.

If the submitter is a co-author of the abstract, we kindly ask them to include their information on the author list, as this does not take place automatically.

Please check the correct spelling and formatting of the author(s) names and affiliation(s).

Please use appropriate capitalisation and punctuation.

ESCMID takes no responsibility for errors in either author or affiliation information.

Text

ALL CAPS for text (other than abbreviations or acronyms) are not allowed. The text of the entire abstract must not exceed 350 words (excluding figure descriptions and references). Use British English spelling.

Title

The abstract title should be concise and submitted in line with scientific rules. This applies to special characters and words that must be CAPITALISED or italicised.

  • Please DO NOT capitalise the title except the first word
  • Please DO NOT use a dot to finish the title
  • Please DO NOT use any brand names in the title

ESCMID reserves the right to proofread and adjust titles according to ECCMID guidelines format without the consent of the author.

Abstract body

Use the provided fields to draft your abstract. Please ensure that different sections of your abstract are entered into the appropriate textbox. For research abstracts, briefly state the background, context of research, and its goals.

The methods section should provide the minimum required information on the research setting, data collection, and analytical methods.

The results presented in the abstract should be original, not published or presented previously.

For Case report/series and CGR cases (usually featuring a single illustrative case or a series of up to 10 cases), emphasise the unique aspects of the case (e.g. with respect to clinical presentation, diagnosis or treatment) and discuss the learning points emerging from the case(s).

Narrative reviews or abstracts without genuine data content cannot be accepted.

Pictures/Graphs/Tables

Please use the figure upload fields at the bottom to select up to three images. Figure sections can be used to upload images, graphs, or tables.

Accepted formats: JPEG or PNG. Size: 1000x1000 pixels max. File size: up to 5 MB. Images larger than the provided dimensions will be automatically resized to an A4 format in your submission confirmation.

Please check the readability of uploaded materials before submitting your abstract.

Spelling guidelines

Use British English spelling throughout. The International System of Units (SI) should be used wherever appropriate. Genus and species names should be written in full as mentioned first and abbreviated subsequently. Italicise when appropriate.

The following scientific rules apply (examples in brackets):

  • Systematic names (genus, family, and higher orders): capitalised (e.g., Chlamydia, Enterobacterales Picornaviridae)
  • Non-English expressions in English texts are written in italics (e.g., in vitro/in vivoad hocex officio)
  • Taxonomic names must be italicised (e.g., Staphylococcus aureusClostridium difficile)
  • Non-systematic names (e.g., plural): lowercase and not italicised (group A streptococci, mycobacteria)
  • Generic drug names: lowercase (e.g., penicillin)
  • Do not use brand names in titles: product names are allowed in the abstract text, but must be avoided in the title
  • Please follow standard English grammar rules, including a space after full stops and commas
  • Only common abbreviations may be used without definition

Please choose the best-fitting abstract category and sub-category to ensure allocation for review by the most suitable reviewing experts and best fit to the session in case of acceptance.

All case and case series abstracts will be automatically assigned to category 12. Case reports and case series (n<10).

Keywords

Authors are asked to choose two keywords from the dropdown and one free keyword to define the best abstract content.

Submit your abstract

You can save your abstract at any time. Please make sure to fill all fields correctly before final submission. Changes in the abstract are not possible after submission. After submission, an email confirmation will be sent to the submitter (please state your correct email address!). All co-authors will be notified by email and receive a copy of the submitted abstract. The submitter is responsible for obtaining permission for submission and presentation of the abstract from all co-authors and any relevant stakeholders. All correspondence regarding acceptance or rejection, including further information on the mode of presentation, etc., will be sent to the presenting author.

If an abstract is not accepted for an oral presentation, it may be accepted as a poster presentation, and the presenting authors will receive notification via email. 

Should you decide to change the type of abstract once you have started the submission, please withdraw your current abstract and re-start the submission process with new content.
