Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by Thursday, August 31, 2023. You must be a member of the society (member-in-training membership is free to residents and those in fellowship) and register for the meeting by September 30, 2023. The meeting registration fee will be waived for the presenting author.

*Free Annual Meeting registration for presenting authors if your abstract is accepted.

Program Directors, Department Chairs, Section Chiefs, and Attendings, please encourage your residents to submit an abstract.  Also, please share this information with your colleagues.

Abstracts accepted for presentation give the authors an opportunity to network with leaders in the field and an opportunity to discuss their research.

Presentations should be hypothesis-driven research intended to be presented as a 10-minute oral podium presentation.

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

• All accepted abstracts are expected to be presented in person at the SRU 2023 Annual Meeting. Presenting authors will be provided complimentary registration.
• Scientific Presentation abstracts should use the format below:
  1. Purpose
  2. Methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions
• Maximum abstract length: 400 words, not including title, authors, purpose, images, tables, graphics, and charts. 
• Multiple abstracts on different topics may be submitted
• Only 4 files can be submitted and are encouraged if relevant to the research. Files are to be submitted as separate files. Acceptable files to support the research are tables, charts, graphics, and images. Image file requirements are as follows:
  1. Minimum file resolution is 1000 x 1000 pixels.
  2. Maximum file size is 10 megabytes.

• All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the SRU Research Committee.
• Detailed guidelines for presentation will be provided upon abstract acceptance.
• The SRU recognizes top presentations with a variety of awards including Certificate of Merit Awards and a Member-In-Training Award for the top abstract.
