Each abstract is limited to a maximum of 2500 characters including title and author information. You may upload a figure in jpeg or png format which will reduce the maximum characters by 400 to 2100 characters. In addition to you can upload up to 3 supplementary files in pdf, jpeg, mp3 or mp4 format with a max size of 25 MB (online only, will not be published in the abstract book).
Accepted abstracts will be published in the applicable journal and be invited for poster presentation (this does not include an oral presentation). NKF is pleased to announce the transition to electronic-only publication for the Physician, Nephrology Nurse and Technician, and Renal Dietitian abstracts. All SCM abstracts will be published together as an e-only Supplement into the April issue of AJKD, allowing viewers to easily navigate through the abstracts. This transition will increase visibility for all authors, while making it easier for learners and attendees to locate abstracts based on topic. Nephrology Social Work abstracts will still publish in the spring issue of JNSW.
Registration Fee
Please note: Acceptance of an abstract does not waive the National Kidney Foundation 2023 Spring Clinical Meetings registration fee. You must register for the National Kidney Foundation 2023 Spring Clinical Meetings in order to present your poster.

Abstract structure
Organize the abstract as follows:
- Introduction: Statement of the purpose of the study, program, project or case report.
- Methods: Statement of the methods or interventions used.
- Results: Summary of the results presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusion.
- Conclusion: Statement of the implications, conclusions reached or key message.
Please note that “Case Reports” is its own separate topic. Case Reports submitted should be novel and should have a single, well-defined message with meaningful clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic implications adequately supported by the clinical evaluation and diagnostic tests.
When submitting an abstract, please note a change in the field selection of the submission process. Authors will now select the discipline appropriate for the abstract, rather than the associated journal . The options for field selection now include: Physicians, Nephrology Nurses and Technicians, Renal Dietitians, and Nephrology Social Work.
Abbreviations
Use of standard abbreviations is desirable, e.g., RBC. Use kg., gm., mg., ml., L, and %. Place a special or unusual abbreviation in parentheses after the full word or phrase the first time it appears. Use numerals to indicate numbers, except to begin sentences. Do not use subtitles, e.g., Methods, Results.
Original Publication
Abstracts previously published or presented at a national/international meeting prior to the National Kidney Foundation 2023 Spring Clinical Meetings will not be accepted.
