INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Before preparing and typing your abstract, please read carefully the following instructions:

• Abstracts can be submitted via the online Abstract Submission Service only. Abstracts sent by fax or email will not be accepted
• Abstract must be in English
• The deadline for abstract submission is midnight Central European Time on January 8, 2023. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be accepted
• The complete abstract must not exceed 180 characters for the TITLE and 340 words / 2800 characters for the BODY
• Type the text, including tables and figures, in single-line spacing and using Times New Roman 11. Do not use smaller type.
• TITLE: capitalize the entire title. Spell out words. Do not use abbreviations and check that your title is complete in case you copy and paste it into the field
• AUTHORS/AFFILIATIONS: you may enter up to 20 authors in the authors list and 10 affiliations. The presenting must be part of the authors list included in the submitted abstract. The names of authors will be published as listed on the submission form. Please make sure you have enter the full list of authors. The authors’ order and details (names, cities, country codes) will be published as entered in the form
• TEXT: begin the text on a new line. The text should be arranged using the following headings: objective, design and method, results and conclusions
• Do not include authors, institutions, city and abbreviations in the title or in the text since the grading and selection process is blinded
• Do not include grant acknowledgements in the abstract content. Do not cite keywords or references in the abstract, as they are not allowed and will be deleted
• Abstract will be accepted according to scientific merit
• ESH 2023 allows the submission of abstracts for original contribution to the field only.

Final selection of abstract will be made by the Scientific Committee by end of February 2023. All abstract corresponding authors will be then notified about the outcome (accepted or not accepted) of the review process.
Please ensure that the email provided during the abstract submission is accurate as all correspondences will be sent via email.

NOTE:

• Registration is compulsory in order to present an abstract during the Meeting
• Each presenting Author is allowed to present up to 3 abstracts with one paid registration
• Presenting Authors of accepted abstracts are entitled to a special registration fee
• If the presenting Author has been awarded a grant, a paid registration is not needed

Dear Colleagues,

We are really honored and at the same time excited to address you this cordial invitation to attend the 32nd Scientific Meeting of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) on “Hypertension and Cardiovascular Protection”, which will be held in Milan, June 23-26, 2023.

The 2023 Annual Milan Meeting provides the possibility of onsite as well as online participation, aiming to meet the needs of European colleagues as well as colleagues from around the world.

The Meeting will devote its attention primarly to the mechanistic, diagnostic and therapeutic novelties that have been obtained on hypertension in the recent past. It will also focus, however, on the comorbidities that are closely related to the high blood pressure condition, including risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemias and obesity as well as coronary artery heart disease, stroke, heart failure, peripheral artery abnormalities and dementia. Our aim is to develop a Meeting that provides a critical update on research progress in this fundamental area of medicine and in the mean time helps clinical practice to obtain optimal management of the hypertensive patient. In this context a key aspect of the meeting will be the presentation of the new ESH hypertension guidelines which will then be widely discussed by the audience and among experts.

The scientific programme will consist of multiple State-of-the-Art Lectures, Debates and Round Tables, and Live Cases on issues of major current clinical interest, targeting enhanced interaction with both digital and physical audience. The Meeting will be an integrated scaffold of learning, sharing knowledge and breakthrough science. Drawing on past meetings, the program will include, How-to, Meet the Expert and Clinical case sessions, as well as special sessions reserved to hypertension specialists and ESH Excellence Centres.

As usually, the ESH meeting will be held in the Congress Center of the Milan City Fair, which can optimally accommodate the large number of participants and the diversified scientific and educational activities that characterize the European Hypertension Meetings, with also a suitable exhibition space for the Industry. The City Fair is only few stops away from the center of Milan (the Cathedral Square) and can be easily reached from major Hotels.

Fees are quoted in euro (EUR), per person, not including 22% Italian VAT.

Online registrations for in-person attendance will be accepted until May 24, after this date it will be possible to register directly on-site in Milan.

Online registrations for virtual attendance will be accepted until June 22, after this date no online registration will be accepted.
