Learning Objectives
Learn the basics of CEUS in clinical practice through hands-on teaching of CEUS indication.
Recognize the global use of contrast ultrasound as a safe, ionizing-free, economical imaging modality for diagnostics in cardiology and whole-body imaging for improved patient care.
Interpret the clinical applications of contrast ultrasound as outlined by the professional societies: American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE), the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology(EFSUMB, the European Medical Association (EMA) and the World Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB).
Review new therapeutic applications of contrast ultrasound.
Discuss the ongoing clinical trials using contrast ultrasound in pre-clinical research environments.
Distinguish and demonstrate novel, emerging scientific, research applications of contrast ultrasound techniques and application.
Program Information
The Illinois State Medical Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) and Advances in Contrast Ultrasound (ACU). The ISMS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Educational Format
The symposium will consist of sessions designed to introduce relevant clinical issues, provide directed, spirited, open-ended discussions, and develop a group consensus. Each of the highlighted presentations will be followed by an open and lively, yet focused, discussion. Questions initiated by the chair will be directed to the faculty and audience at large. The discussion period will include opinions, scientific data, and supporting positions provided by the faculty. Slides or video segments will be used to support positions on specific issues. The chairs will close each session by summarizing the opinion of the group.

This program is designed for cardiologists, interventional clinical cardiologists, radiologists, vascular specialists, biomedical engineers, and research scientists, sonographers, nurses and other allied health professionals across the US and worldwide.
