Announcements: New Dates for the ASCI Congress in Vietnam

After careful consideration of the universal uncertainty growing of the COVID-19 pandemic related restrictions on travel and gatherings as well as concern about the health, well-being and safety of our attendees, faculty and their patients, our Organizing Committee, supported by the Asian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging (ASCI), has decided to postpone the 14th Asian Congress of Cardiovascular Imaging (ASCI), originally scheduled on August 20-22, 2020, to August 19-21, 2021 in Danang City, VietnamWe apologize for the inconvenience caused and we thank you for your understanding.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of ASCI, it is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to the 14th Asian Congress of Cardiovascular Imaging (ASCI 2020) which will be held at the Ariyana Convention Center, Danang city, Vietnam, from Thursday August 19th, to Saturday 21st, 2021.

The ASCI was founded in 2006, and the Congress is held every year. In the past, it had been held twice in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan, respectively, and once in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand, respectively. In addition to the annual scientific meeting, the ASCI has been playing an important role in the academy and edu

cation in Asia. The events include publication of an official journal the CVIA, the ASCI Cube program in fostering young and intelligent ASCI

members, the ASCI Joint Symposium to support the academic activities of the Asian Oceanian national societies, and the ASCI Speaker Bureau to train the ASCI members to become distinguished speakers for academic meetings.

The theme of ASCI 2020 is “Beyond the Future of Cardiovascular Imaging: Opportunities and Challenges”. Inspiring refresher courses and updated scientific programs, including the implication of AI in cardiovascular imaging that will be arranged. AI has the potential of transforming cardiovascular imaging in the future. It will help radiologists, cardiologists, and healthcare providers to decrease diagnostic errors, facilitate collaborations among physicians for the sake of precision imaging, and preventive patient care. It is ASCI’sprivilege to have a collaboration and exchange program with sister societies, including the EACVI, ESCR, NASCI, SCCT and SCMR. Outstanding speakers from those sister societies will be invited to strengthen the scientific program.

Da Nang is the commercial and educational center of Central Vietnam, as well as the largest city in the region. Besides its easy access, shopping highlights, and historical sights, it has the proximity to several well-known beaches. In addition to learning and meeting old and new friends at the Congress, Da Nang is a wonderful city for relaxing and sightseeing. You will certainly enjoy your stay at the comfortable venue, the Ariyana Convention Center which has 20 meeting rooms, meeting space of 6,641 sq. m, and 1,000 guest rooms.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the congress president Prof. Hoang Minh Loi, and the LOC members of ASCI 2020, for organizing this extraordinary congress.
